The Theatre of Stefan Żeromski will be rebuilt and expanded by the ANNA-BUD

The contract was signed for the reconstruction and extension of the historic building of the Stefan Żeromski Theatre in Kielce located at Sienkiewicza Street.

The renovation of the theatre is to be financed from the funds allocated in the budget of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, the Ministry of Culture, EU funds from the Regional Operational Program and from the Norwegian Funds.

The author of the concept of rebuilding the theatre is the Warsaw studio WXCA. The building is to completely change its face and gain new functions. It will include, among others, a two-story foyer, a conference and performance hall, a new chamber stage with the possibility of opening onto the courtyard, a recording studio with a director's control room. For the needs of theatre warehouses, an underground floor will be built, technical and administrative functions will be taken over by the rebuilt attic. Actors will also gain new wardrobes.

"I am approaching the investment more calmly now because the biggest problem of a theatre is always the loss of a place to play, but we managed to build a professional substitute room in the Provincial House of Culture" - told us Michał Kotański, director of the Stefan Żeromski Theatre in Kielce.
