Pedestrian and bicycle bridge and reconstruction of Rokosza street in Busko-Zdrój
The subject of another investment realised by ANNA-BUD is the reconstruction of Rokosza Street and the construction of a pedestrian and bicycle bridge connecting the park areas near the ‘Górka’ children's hospital with the park areas in the central part of the city.
The investment being carried out is one of the ideas to improve the image of the Spa Park through the construction of a footbridge and cycleway linking the park areas at the ‘Górka’ children's hospital with the park areas in the central part of the spa. The investment will be carried out as part of the task ‘Socio-economic, physical and spatial development of the town of Busko-Zdrój through revitalisation activities’ under the Regional Operational Programme of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship 2014-2020.
There are two major tasks facing our company:
Task No. 1: Reconstruction of Rokosza Street in Busko-Zdrój
Task No. 2: Construction of a pedestrian and cycle footbridge over Starkiewicza Street in Busk-Zdrój
The winning architectural design of the pedestrian and bicycle bridge was made by the Lewicki Łatak Design Office based in Kraków. The work was awarded for: the extraordinary landscape qualities of the footbridge and cycleway, harmoniously integrated into the existing park greenery, the consistent separation of pedestrian and cycle traffic in relation to the urban layout of the surroundings, the material solutions of the footbridge, which will allow to maintain its aesthetic standard during future use.
The footbridge, consisting of two parts for pedestrians and cyclists, will be an extension of one of the park paths and will connect the park areas at the ‘Górka’ children's hospital in Busko-Zdrój with the park areas in the central part of the spa in Busko-Zdrój. The footbridge will start on a flat area. The pedestrian and bicycle parts will gradually separate and rise at a slight angle until they reach a maximum height of 5 m. The two parts will be connected by stairs, which will be located next to the pavement. Just above the carriageway, the pedestrian and cycle parts will again separate until they reach the hospital park. The cycle part will gently curve and descend along the pond until it reaches the level of the park path. The footpath will be made of larch wood, while the cycle part will be made of cationic-bitumen compound with local stone grit. Energy-saving led lighting will be used, which will be placed at the bottom of the balustrade.
