The railway station in Życzyn is once again serving passengers

We have rebuilt and put into use the railway station in Życzyn, which was built in 1883 and is located in the village of Podebłocie.

As part of the completed project, the wooden façade of the station underwent conservation treatments - painting and filling in cavities. Inside the building, a lot of changes await travellers. The walls in the station's waiting room were covered with panelling and we exposed a historic tiled cooker. The floor was partly made of original terracotta tiles, which we supplemented with stoneware of similar size, layout and subdued colours to match the historic elements.

A new feature on the façade are the spatial and illuminated inscriptions with the name of the station, as well as the circular clock on the side of the platforms. Night illumination also adds to the charm of the wooden building. However, the historic station has many modern elements. We have eliminated architectural barriers and introduced many facilities for people with disabilities. The station has also become more environmentally friendly through the use of modern technical solutions, such as energy-efficient lighting and intelligent building management systems that optimise electricity, heat and water consumption. We have installed 30 photovoltaic panels on the roof of the station to generate green energy. It is also safer, as the building has been equipped with a modern monitoring and access control system.
