Żeromski Theatre in Kielce shines in new splendour!

After 4 years of intensive construction work, the Stefan Żeromski Theatre has reopened its doors to the public. The historic building has regained its former splendour, while modern technical solutions provide the audience with an even greater artistic experience. The investment we carried out concerned the reconstruction, extension and superstructure of the historic theatre building located on Sienkiewicza Street in the centre of Kielce.

The building completely changed its appearance and gained new functions. Among other things, a two-storey foyer, a conference and auditorium, a new chamber stage with the possibility of opening onto the courtyard, and a recording studio with a director's office were created. An underground storey was created for the theatre's storerooms, and technical and administrative functions were taken over by a rebuilt attic. The actors also gained new dressing rooms.

A new chapter in the theatre's history

The refurbishment and extension, which lasted from 2021, was one of the most eagerly awaited cultural events in Kielce. Thanks to them, the theatre has not only regained its historic character, but has also been equipped with state-of-the-art lighting, sound and stage equipment. All this has made the stage of the Żeromski Theatre even more attractive for artists and audiences.

What's new at the theatre?

  • A modern stage: Thanks to the use of innovative technical solutions, the stage of the Żeromski Theatre has gained extraordinary functionality. It is possible to stage a wide variety of performances, from classic dramas to modern theatrical forms, on both the new large and small stage.
  • Audience comfort: The auditorium has been modernised, providing audiences with even greater comfort during performances. Better acoustics with immersive sound allowing full immersion in the musical effects surrounding the audience from all sides. Excellent visibility of the stage also thanks to the use of a moving auditorium are just some of the improvements.
  • Spaces for artists: The theatre's technical and artistic facilities have also been modernised, creating ideal working conditions for actors, directors and other creatives.
  • Historic interiors regained their shine: During the renovation, special attention was paid to preserving the historic character of the building. Thanks to careful restoration work, the theatre's historic interiors have regained their former charm and splendour. The theatre has gained additional basement levels for, among other things, storage facilities.

What awaits the audience?

The opening event of the 2024/2025 season was a concert by Icelandic artist Sóley, which took place on 23 August 2024 in the courtyard of the Theatre. Żeromski Theatre has prepared a rich repertoire for its audiences, which includes both classics and contemporary dramas. Both well-known actors and young talents will be seen on stage. There will be regular premieres, festivals and other cultural events. Żeromski Theatre invites you!

We are proud to have contributed to the revitalisation of the public space of the city of Kielce.
